Schiphol Group markets the AirportCity concept both within the Netherlands and abroad as a single, integrated concept for the development, implementation and management of commercial, consumer-focused activities at airports. This concept is aimed at maximising customer satisfaction in order to increase revenues from non-aviation activities. The concept is made up of various parts which include, for example, market research, e-business (Virtual AirportCity), the Privium loyalty programme, commercial development, advertising, parking, real estate and all other consumer-related commercial products.

Successful partnerships have now been established with Stockholm Arlanda Airport in Sweden, Terminal 4 at JFK Airport in New York, USA, Brisbane International Airport in Australia, Reina Beatrix Airport in Aruba and Soekarno-Hatta International Airport in Indonesia.

Commercial Development
Amsterdam Airport Schiphol is the showcase for Schiphol Group?s AirportCity concept. With a well-balanced mix of general and speciality shops, restaurants and coffee bars, a unique collection of art, and numerous peaceful seating areas, we offer our visitors a unique travel experience. The expertise that we have acquired at this location means that we are able to offer support with the development of other airports in the Netherlands and abroad.

Market research
The quality of service offered is one of the key factors that has contributed towards the continued success and development of the airports forming part of Schiphol Group. In order to constantly monitor and improve the level of quality offered at airports by means of customer satisfaction surveys, Schiphol Group has developed an effective research tool, the Airport Integrated Quality (IQ) Monitor.

Privium
Privium is an innovative airport loyalty programme with 33,000 members that offers benefits to frequent flyers. Members of the programme can enjoy a quick, safe and privileged travel experience from departure to arrival. This new initiative offers members priority parking close to the terminal, a dedicated check-in desk and a faster passage through airport security by means of iris recognition.

Virtual AirportCity
Schiphol Group has created a Virtual AirportCity to meet the diverse needs of today's traveller. Holiday or business trips can be booked through the Amsterdam Airport Schiphol website at www.schiphol.nl. With this service, not only can passengers place orders for products online at their convenience, they can also reserve tickets and hotel rooms, order taxis, hire cars and receive the latest travel information via SMS.

Advertising
Schiphol Group develops and manages a fully integrated and varied indoor and outdoor media programme. Each programme is uniquely designed, and prominently and precisely placed in order to create maximum awareness and therefore maximum results.

Parking
A modern airport is not only efficient, multi-modal transport hub, it is also a location which offers its visitors all the services they require, 24 hours a day. Paying attention to transport requirements ensures that an airport becomes accessible to a broader range of visitors. An efficient parking system (short stay and long stay, VIP and staff parking) guarantees the airport?s accessibility.
