International activities

Via its subsidiary, Schiphol International BV, and via Consumer International, part of the Consumers business area, Schiphol Group is continuously working to strengthen its international position by forming alliances with selected international airports. The participating interests and management contracts are long-term alliances which are aimed at strengthening the position of the partner to which, in addition to possible financial investment, Schiphol Group always aims to bring high added value.

In order to strengthen the (competitive) position of Schiphol Group and to improve its commercial results, Schiphol International and Consumer International use the experience acquired at Amsterdam Airport Schiphol to implement the integrated AirportCity concept. A fundamental principle of this concept is that the development of both aviation and non-aviation activities is harmonised so that they strengthen each other.

Schiphol Group engages in international activities in three different areas, focusing on specific client requirements: participating interests and management contracts, operation of commercial AirportCity products, and real estate development.
